Eastman Machine Company, a 120 year-old manufacturer of cutting machines, automated cutting systems, material handling equipment, and industry-specific design software, will showcase the automated Multi-Ply cutting system in Booth 4007 at the 2012 TexProcess event held April 24-26, in Atlanta.
Eastman’s MPC Raptor 75x™ Multi-Ply Cutting System is an automated reciprocating straight knife cutter, with conveyor, capable of cutting up to 7.5 cm (3 inches) of compressed material. Precise system operations, driven by state-of-the-art motion control communications combine to offer an industry-leading solution for medium- to high-ply cutting of flexible material goods. Eastman’s MPC models have been uniquely crafted to automatically pull stacked material plies from the spreading table to a modular, bristle-block conveyor bed for reciprocating knife cutting of patterns. High-strength “take-off” fingers smoothly transition the cut material stacks to a conveyor region dedicated to parts removal and bundling. The MPC models are engineered to perform without failure for accurate and repeated cutting of a variety of materials. The systems have been installed at facilities cutting for garments and for industrial fabrics applications like marine, medical and agricultural products.
Highlighted for the first time at TexProcess will be the newly engineered “Raptor” generation tool-head, gantry and system base for the Multi-Ply System:
• Reciprocating knife technology provides precise vertical stroke cutting
• Cutting ranges up to 3 in. (7.5 cm) of compressed material
• Low pressure, light touch sharpening unit. Sharpening can be adjusted to user defined angle.
• Intellicut™ knife control software ensures quality cuts from top to bottom ply
• Optional high-speed-single or dual pneumatic drill. Optional vacuum for drill debris.
• Air chiller with nozzle cools blade and lower guides (optional)
• Easy access to knife system and assembly parts simplifies daily maintenance procedures
• 2.5cm machine has optional drag knife attachment.
Setting the standard for over a century, Eastman’s line of multi-ply, manually-operated fabric cutting machines will also be on display, configured with the apparel industry in mind. A large range of straight and round knives as well as drills & markers, end cutters and rotary shears will highlight this year’s exhibition.
